Hurling Stick - 24"

ATAK Hurling Sticks are designed with the player in mind. Constructed from high grade root ash, each hurl is handmade to the highest standard.

Available in a variety of sizes from 18”-36”, ATAK Hurling Sticks are suitable for players of all ages and levels.

These hurls size up in 2 inch increments for junior hurleys, and 1” increments for senior, to make sure that whatever size hurling stick you need, ATAK has you covered.

ATAK Hurling Sticks are made by hand from high grade root ash, but as a natural material, they require care and maintenance to get the most out of your hurl. The meticulously shaped larger bas is perfect for improved striking and control.  

Great care and attention goes into making every ATAK Hurling Stick, and in order to make the most of your purchase, there are some recommended steps to keeping your hurl in top condition.

Ash is naturally porous, and therefore moisture content management is vital. Avoid leaving your hurl in direct sunlight, or anywhere with fluctuating temperatures, or very high or low temperatures. Avoid the hot press, near radiators, out on the grass, and in the car boot. Keep your hurl somewhere cool and dry at an even temperature to keep it as strong as possible.

It is also recommended to break the hurley in with an old sliotar against a wall first, before playing a match, as the ash will acclimatise to the shock and impact. Using a new Match Sliotar to break in a hurl is not recommended, however, ATAK Quick Touch or Smart Touch Sliotars are great for breaking in a new hurley if you don’t have an old sliotar to hand.
